Hi, my name's Dr Warrick Bishop and welcome to my Healthy Heart Minute. Today, I'm gonna talk very briefly about fats, oils, and lipids.

Well, what are they? Very simply, lipid is the term used to really cover all those fatty, oily constituents. Fats and oils are made up of fatty acids. Some of them tend to be liquid at room temperature,, some of them tend to be solid at room temperature. So, fatty acids make up fats and oils.

We tend to call the solid forms of fatty acids 'fats'. We tend to call the liquid forms of fatty acids 'oils', and lipids is the term that covers all those. All of that group, which are made up of fatty acids.

If you wanna know more about that, I've done a whole podcast on that description and the definition of those, and you are welcome to check that out. The link for that podcast will be attached to this video.

For now, however, I'm gonna wish you the very best. Take care and bye for now!
