Hi, my name's Dr Warrick Bishop. I'm a cardiologist and welcome to my Healthy Heart Minute. Today, a couple of quick words on your Aorta, which is the big blood vessel that comes out of the heart delivering blood to the rest of the body.

It's big. It's several centimeters across. About three to three and a half centimeters. Once it's creeping up over four centimeters, we start to believe it's dilated. Four and a half centimeters reasonably big. Five centimeters, quite large. Five and a half centimeters, we would want to be operating on that thing to make sure that it doesn't rupture.

So how do you look after your aorta? Well, keeping your blood pressure down is probably fundamental and regular exercise and not being too stressed. So look after your aorta. It is that major artery that comes out of the heart and supplies all other arteries within the body.

I've done a podcast talking all about blood pressure, stress and the aorta. That podcast link is either below or within this video. So please go and check it out. Have a listen. It's free and I think you'll enjoy it for now. However, I'm going to wish you the very best. Take care until next time. Bye for now.
