Hi, my name is Dr Warrick Bishop and welcome to my Healthy Heart Minute. Today, a quick one on heart attack and stroke.

Sometimes people get these confused. Well, it's pretty straightforward. Heart attack relates to a sudden blockage of an artery that supplies the heart muscle. Stroke refers to a sudden blockage of a blood vessel going to the brain. The heart arteries supply the muscle of the heart, causing chest pain in the pumping of the heart. So these people can suffer chest pains or features of the heart not pumping properly. Blood supply to the brain, obviously, is their for function. So generally, no pain with a stroke, but a loss of function. If an area that, for example, supplied the hand, lost its blood supply, then the hand would not work.

I've done a whole podcast on heart attack and stroke. Please have a listen. I think you'll find it interesting. The link to that is just below. For now, however, I wish you the very best. Take care. And bye for now.
