Welcome to Dr. Warrick's Podcast Channel. Hi, my name is Dr Warrick Bishop and I'm a cardiologist. Today, I'd like to tell you about EP ablation of AF. So, EP, electrophysiological ablation of AF, atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation arises in the top chambers of the heart and turns out if we can put special catheters into the heart and literally isolate by doing special burns or freezes of some of the pulmonary veins coming into the left atrium, sounds a bit technical, but if we can undertake a procedure basically through the leg, we can reduce the risk and recurrence of atrial fibrillation. Now, it's not a cure, but it is a really good way for people who are symptomatic to get some better relief and it helps our medications work. So for younger people who are clearly symptomatic, electrophysiological ablation of atrial fibrillation is a real consideration.

I've done a podcast on the very topic. I've actually even written a book on the topic. So click below if you'd like to listen to the podcast and enjoy. Get some more information. In the meantime, keep well. I hope you don't develop atrial fibrillation and please don't die from a heart attack. Goodbye.
