Hi, my name is Dr Warrick Bishop and I'm a cardiologist.

Look, I'd like to take a moment and tell you a little bit about a potential positive side effect from anti-coagulation. Well, it seems more and more people are ending up on anti-coagulation these days as atrial fibrillation. Part of its therapy is thinning the blood and we're seeing more and more of this condition. Well, one of the things that putting people on anti-coagulation can do is increase there risk of bleeding. And if, for example, these people have a tumor in the gut, maybe an early cancer, then an increased risk of bleeding means that these people may well present with anemia or blood in their stool earlier through being on that medication. There is some data showing that we do pick up bowel lesions earlier for people on these medications. So anti-coagulation a little bit of a nuisance, but it is a cloud with a silver lining. So I hope you find that interesting.

I've actually done a podcast on the very topic below. If you want more information, click on that. I wish you the very best. Look after yourself. Good health and don't die from a heart attack. Goodbye.
